OUR TEAM
Drowning is a serious and often overlooked public health crisis in the United States, claiming more than 4,500 lives each year and costing the economy over $50 billion annually. It is the leading cause of death for children ages 1–4 and the second leading cause of unintentional injury death for children ages 5–14, underscoring the urgent need for action. What makes drowning especially dangerous is how quickly and silently it can occur, often in as little as 20 to 60 seconds, leaving little time to react. Despite these alarming realities, many of these tragedies are preventable. By increasing awareness and consistently practicing evidence-based water safety strategies, we can significantly reduce the risk and protect lives, especially among our most vulnerable populations.
WaterSafety4Kids, founded in 2025, is a 501c3 nonprofit with mission to promote water safety awareness and sponsor swim lessons for young children from underserved communities. Water activities are fun and enjoyable, and our goal is to make young children feel comfortable and safe in and around water.
Our community is surrounded by water bodies and has many homes with swimming pools. With so many house parties, pool parties and play dates, we often find many kids close to water where they are uncomfortable. It is important that we promote water safety awareness and encourage young children to take swimming lessons. Team up with us to participate in events, raise funds, run workshops and take an active role in creating a safe and comfortable environment around water for young children in our community.
